Police arrest man accused of pointing firearm at 2 people on the Boise Bench

Boise Police on Tuesday arrested a man believed to be responsible for pointing a firearm at two employees of a business on Sunday on the Boise Bench.

Craig Graving, 25, of Boise, was booked into the Ada County Jail on suspicion of two counts of felony aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.

The alleged assault happened at around 2 p.m. at a business near Franklin and Orchard streets, according to a Boise Police Department news release. The motive remains unclear, police said.

“Officers received information that for unknown reasons a suspect had pointed a firearm at two employees,” according to the news release. “The employees feared for their safety and the suspect drove away.”

Officers started searching the area for the suspect and his vehicle, the release said, and police located Graving at around 1 p.m. Tuesday. They said he was in possession of a controlled substance and a handgun at the time of his arrest.
