Idaho man facing numerous charges connected to May rape in Nampa
A Nampa man was arrested this week on suspicion of rape and other charges connected to an assault back in May.
Coltan Mikel Cannon, 26, was booked into the Canyon County jail on a number of charges — including rape, battery with intent to commit a serious felony, forcible penetration by a foreign object, aggravated battery and sexual battery.
The Nampa Police Department announced Cannon’s arrest in a news release Thursday morning.
Cannon was arrested after a rape reportedly occurred on May 23 at a home near the 300 block of Maine Loop in Nampa, according to the release. As of Thursday morning, Cannon is in the custody of the Canyon County jail.
Idaho court records do not show any previous criminal convictions, but it does show there is an active no-contact order against Cannon in a criminal case.
It was not immediately clear when Cannon will appear in a Canyon County court or if a bond amount has been set.
