Idaho man accused of sexually abusing 2 teen girls, held in jail on $250,000 bond
A 20-year-old Eagle man is being held in the Ada County Jail after being accused of sexually abusing two 14-year-old girls, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office blog.
Austin Brunette is charged on suspicion of two counts of lewd conduct with a minor younger than age 16. He was arrested Wednesday.
Detectives began their investigation in February after being contacted by a third party, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The blog post stated that “detectives developed evidence Brunette,” who was then 19, “had illegal sexual contact with the girls at various locations in Star and Eagle between November and January.”
Both victims knew the alleged suspect, and the crimes are not believed to be random, authorities said.
Brunette is being held on bail of $250,000 and his next court appearance is set for July 1.
Detectives are reportedly concerned that Brunette may have additional victims and asked anyone who has information to call detective Neil Daigle at 208-577-3704 or send an email to ndaigle@adacounty.id.gov.
Lewd conduct with a child younger than age 16 is punishable by up to life in prison.
