Idaho woman arrested after Payette County bar incident sends man to Boise hospital
A man was flown to a Boise hospital early Sunday morning after he was allegedly assaulted by a woman outside a bar in Payette County.
Monica Waite, a 43-year-old New Plymouth resident, was arrested early Sunday and booked into the Payette County Jail on counts of aggravated battery and drunkenness, according to a news release from the Payette County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies were sent to the Double Diamond Saloon in New Plymouth after reports of an assault. Deputies arrived and found a 24-year-old man unconscious on the ground behind the saloon. Police said the man walked out of the bar with two women before Waite approached them.
Waite allegedly “threw the male victim to the ground and assaulted him,” according to the news release.
The man was flown via helicopter to a hospital in Boise. His condition was unknown by police as of Monday afternoon, according to Lt. Andy Creech with the Payette County Sheriff’s Office.
Waite was still in police custody as of Monday afternoon, and she was set to be arraigned later in the day, Creech said in an email.
