Multiple suspects in custody after reported armed robbery at Boise hotel
Several people are in custody following a police standoff at a hotel on Wednesday morning, according to the Boise Police Department.
Spokeswoman Haley Williams said police tried to contact a potentially armed man at Boise’s Red Lion Hotel, 1800 W. Fairview Ave.
Williams said officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the location at about 4:20 a.m. At the scene, Lt. Michael Hill told the Statesman that a male victim was staying in a room by himself when the robbery occurred. Hill said the victim sustained minor injuries.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., police officers had multiple people in handcuffs in the parking lot of the hotel. Williams said police were working to determine the individuals’ involvement in the alleged robbery.
One suspect was later found to have a handgun in his possession, though Hill said it had not been fired.
According to Williams, none of the nearby rooms in the hotel were occupied, so police did not have to evacuate the facility. Williams also said officers did not close any roads in the vicinity.
