Former Nampa substitute teacher arrested, charged with sexual battery on a teenager
A Nampa man was booked into the Canyon County Jail on Tuesday after he was accused of sexually abusing a teenager.
Rhys Vickers, 23, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on one count of sexual battery of a minor, according to detective Gary Marang of the Nampa Police Department.
Vickers was a former employee of the Nampa School District, Marang said. Marang said the alleged abuse could have occurred during and after Vickers was employed with the school district.
Kathleen Tuck, director of communications for the Nampa School District, said that Vickers was employed off and on with the school district as a paraprofessional and a substitute teacher between February 2017 and January 2020.
Due to his access to children, Nampa police are concerned that Vickers may have more victims.
Anyone with information on Vickers is encouraged to contact Nampa Police Corporal Angela Weekes at 208-475-5713 or call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
