The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit seized approximately 143 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 on Thursday afternoon, according to a Facebook post.

Manuel A. Torres, 59, of Ohio, was taken into custody on drug trafficking charges after a Sheriff’s Office dog detected the pot being transported in Torres’ vehicle, according to the Elmore County report.

That amount of marijuana has an estimated street value of over $600,000, the Sheriff’s Office said.
