Boise man faces felony charges for allegedly assaulting woman, firing weapon
A 24-year-old Boise man faces two counts of felony aggravated assault and one count of use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony after police responded to a call early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex.
At approximately 2:13 a.m., police responded to a call in the 4900 block of Albion Street and found a female victim in an apartment building’s parking lot, according to a Boise Police Department press release. Ismail G. Abdirahman, 24, who was known to the victim, was physically violent toward her in an apartment and then brandished a gun in a threatening manner, according to police, even firing it inside the apartment.
No one was struck when he fired the weapon, police said, but it caused the victim to fear for her life.
The victim received medical treatment at the scene for minor injuries she sustained when Abdirahman assaulted her, the release said. Police said Abdirahman was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation by the BPD Violent Crimes Unit suggests that Abdirahman was violent with the same victim earlier this week, firing a gun into the center console of a vehicle they were in, the press release said.
Abdirahman was booked into the Ada County Jail and the investigation is ongoing, with more charges pending, according to police.
