Police have arrested the Meridian man who reportedly choked a woman unconscious before fleeing, according to a Meridian Police Department news release.

Officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the 4000 block of N. White Cap Lane on Saturday night, officials said. A 20-year-old woman told police that 21-year-old Blake Emerson showed up to the residence uninvited, broke her phone and choked her unconscious in a physical dispute.

According to police, Emerson fled the location. He was booked into the Ada County Jail around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the public jail roster.

Emerson is currently on probation for felony grand theft and delivery of a controlled substance. He was on misdemeanor domestic battery and malicious injury to property, as well as felony strangulation in connection with the reported Saturday incident.

He remained in jail on Monday morning and is due in court for an arraignment.
