Idaho teen faces burglary charges after allegedly trying to break into Nampa vape shops

A Nampa teenager faces multiple criminal charges after police say he tried to break into a number of local businesses on Wednesday morning, according to a Nampa Police Department news release.

The 17-year-old boy, who has not been identified, is charged with five counts of burglary, five counts of vandalism and one count of petit theft. Burglary convictions in Idaho are punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Police said they responded to reports of attempted break-ins or burglaries at four Nampa vape shops and one pawn shop on Wednesday morning. They were able to identify a vehicle on surveillance video, and the vehicle was connected to another call of a suspicious vehicle at an area car dealership earlier in the morning.

Anyone with other information on the incidents can call Cpl. Bryce Martin at 208-468-4486 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS, 343cops.com or via the P3 app.
