Police say shot fired in Garden City domestic violence incident; suspect arrested

A 60-year-old Garden City man was arrested Wednesday after police received a call of a domestic violence incident. The suspect, Dwight J. Murphy, was charged with felony aggravated assault and taken to the Ada County Jail.

The call came at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of E. 43rd Street. According to Garden City police, dispatchers reported a male suspect was armed with a gun and a female victim was fleeing.

As officers were arriving, it was reported that the suspect fired a shot from the firearm. Officers later located evidence that one shot was fired from a handgun.

No injuries are reported and no one else was involved, according to Ada County Dispatch.
