UPDATE: No charges filed after sexual assault allegations by woman, Boise PD says

Boise Police said no charges have been filed against the man who was accused of sexual assault on Wednesday.

The alleged victim initially said the assault happened around 7:35 p.m. when a man approached her while she was in her car in a parking lot near south Vinnell Way and west Overland Road, according to a police news release. She claimed man then allegedly forced his way into her vehicle and forced her to drive to another location in Ada County, where she said he sexually assaulted her.

“Boise Police Special Victim’s Unit detectives were able to quickly identify and make contact with the male subject and he is cooperating with the investigation,” police said in an updated news release. “Our detectives take public safety seriously and work hard to find all available information about every investigation. During the course of this investigation, officers obtained evidence that the two were known to each other and had planned to meet at that location.”

Investigators reported that they do not believe there is a public safety threat.
