Boise police officers used a stun gun on a man they say resisted arrest early Thursday morning using a pair of scissors.

Christopher P. Woodard, 27, of Boise, was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, a felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing.

According a press release from the Boise Police Department, officers responded to a call of a battery in progress at around 2:30 a.m. on the 6300 block of Everett Street. A female victim told officers that Woodard kicked her and threatened her, forcing her to escape the home and call police.

Police arrived and attempted to communicate with Woodard, who barricaded himself in another room for nearly an hour. When he eventually left the room, police said, Woodard would not obey orders and fought officers while holding a pair of scissors “in a dangerous manner.”

Police then subdued Woodard with the help of a stun-gun shot and he was taken to the Ada County Jail.
