Police: Boise woman charged with DUI after hitting, killing man along Oregon highway
A Boise woman faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence and negligent homicide, after police say she struck and killed a man who was checking the air pressure in his tires along an Oregon roadway Friday evening.
Adrienne Marie Larsen, 32, was westbound on Oregon 86 near the Interstate 84 milepost 302 interchange when she crossed the righthand fog line, striking 59-year-old Dennis Tim Cheney, of Walla Walla, Wash., Oregon State Police said in a press release. The incident occurred around 5 p.m.
Police said Cheney had parked his 1998 Dodge pickup on the shoulder and exited the vehicle to check the air pressure on the tires of a large flatbed trailer he was hauling. He was struck by Larsen’s 2017 Jeep and pronounced dead at the scene.
Larsen is in the Baker County Jail on charges of DUI, manslaughter 1 and 2, criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment. Police said additional charges may be brought against her. She was not injured in the crash.
The accident closed the road for four hours, police said.
