Coroner: 16-year-old Nampa boy died of multiple gunshot wounds

Police say a 16-year-old boy died Tuesday night after being shot in Nampa, and the Ada County Coroner’s Office later ruled his official cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting occurred around 10:22 p.m. near 11th Avenue North and Powell Avenue, according to Nampa Police. They found the teenage boy, who was later identified as Roberto Angel Gomez, and took him to a local hospital where he died shortly after 11 p.m.

Gomez’s death was listed as a homicide. As of Wednesday afternoon, no suspect had been named, and the motive for the shooting remained unknown. Detectives are interviewing witnesses to identify the suspect or suspects.
