The man named as a person of interest in a Lewiston homicide case that left two people dead, and a third person in serious condition early Tuesday morning, has been located in Umatilla, Oregon.
Richard Carlin, 73, was taken into custody without incident, and the Lewiston Police Department is securing search warrants and coordinating with outside agencies as they continue to investigate the crime, according to a news release.There are no other suspects or persons of interest in the case at this time.
The names of the victims have not been released; they are all adults.
Carlin was considered armed and dangerous, police said. Police thought he may be driving a red, 1996 Toyota Carolla with Idaho license plate N100378.

Carlin is listed on Idaho’s Sex Offender Registry due to a 2004 conviction for sexual abuse of a minor under 16 in Nez Perce County.
Police began investigating Tuesday morning after they were notified of a stabbing victim at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
At 5 a.m. today, police went to a house in the 600 block of Preston Avenue in Lewiston. They found two adults who were dead.
