Kathryn Priest was driving on Ten Mile Road Wednesday evening when she rear-ended her boyfriend Kade Moore’s BMW and her Subaru rolled, Meridian police said Thursday.

As officers looked into the crash as a possible DUI, a police dog alerted on both vehicles and the safes they carried, police said. The safe in Priest’s car contained about one pound of heroin; the safe in Moore’s car held 6 ounces of meth, police said.

Priest, a 19-year-old Meridian resident, and Moore, 22, of Boise were booked into the Ada County Jail on felony charges of trafficking heroin and trafficking methamphetamine plus misdemeanor paraphernalia possession. Priest also was cited for inattentive driving and faces a charge of marijuana possession, police said.

The crash happened at 6:20 p.m. Monday on Ten Mile near Park Creek.
