Body found in Nampa investigated as homicide

A man’s body was found in an alley near a Nampa house Monday morning, according to police.

The circumstances of the man’s death weren’t immediately known, so police are investigating it as a homicide, Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Riha said.

Just after 11 a.m. Monday, police were called to the alley in the 2000 block between 4th Street South and 5th Street South, east of the downtown area.

The victim was described only as a Hispanic man. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday.

Riha said he did not know if the man had any obvious injuries or if he was carrying identification.

Anyone with information about the man’s death is asked to call Nampa Police, 208-465-2257, or Crime Stoppers, 208-343-2677 (COPS).
