Meridian man faces five charges of child exploitation

Investigators with the Idaho Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit arrested Bogdan Lyashchuk, 27, at his Meridian home Wednesday, the attorney general's office announced Friday.

Investigators began focusing on Lyashchuk after receiving 12 tips alleging he was downloading child pornography from the Internet. The case remains under investigation.

The Ada County Prosecutor's Office and Boise and Meridian police aided the investigation, according to the news release. The attorney general's Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Unit is a coalition of state and local law enforcement agencies that work with the ICAC Task Force to investigate and prosecute people who use the Internet to criminally exploit children.
