The accident took place about 7:45 a.m. on West Chinden Boulevard near North Long Lake Way, west of Linder Road.

The pickup sustained moderate damage. Neither the driver nor the 16 students in the West Ada School District bus were injured. Another bus brought to the location delivered the children to school.

The driver of the pickup, Richie Sandberg, 40, of Meridian, was cited by an Ada County sheriff’s deputy for following too closely.

A second accident, involving four cars, took place about the same time on Chinden east of Long Lake Way. Minor injuries were reported.
