Update: The Bureau of Land Management said crews had successfully controlled the Scole Fire as of 10 a.m. Monday.

Below is the orginal story:

A wildfire, dubbed the Scole Fire, in Kuna quickly grew to nearly 200 acres Sunday afternoon.

Fire departments responded to a vegetation fire at about 2 p.m. south of Ten Mile Creek Road, between South Cole and South Pleasant Valley roads, according to a Bureau of Land Management social media post.

Crews had halted the “forward fire progression” by about 4:30 p.m. after the fire had reached 181 acres, the bureau said.

Emergency responders to the fire included the U.S. Wildland Fire Service Great Basin Unit 1 and the Kuna Fire Department, with one overhead personnel, four engines, one dozer, one fire investigator and one water tender.

While crews were able to stop the fire’s spread, the Bureau of Land Management did not have an estimate for when it would be fully extinguished.

“Use caution while traveling and stay alert for emergency personnel and equipment operating on roadways,” the bureau said.
