The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the Meridian teen who died in a car accident on Eagle Road over the weekend.

Brayden Griffin died just before 4 a.m. Saturday, after he drove off the northbound lane of Eagle Road and struck a metal power pole just before Pine Avenue, according to the Meridian Police Department and the Ada County Coroner’s Office. Brayden died from “blunt force injuries” at the scene of the crash after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful, according to the Coroner’s Office. He was 16.

The Coroner’s Office ruled Brayden’s death an accident. Two underage passengers were also taken to local hospitals, one of whom had life-threatening injuries but survived, police said. Meridian police are investigating the crash.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created with the goal of $8,000 to help Brayden’s family cover funeral costs. So far, they’ve raised over $3,500.

“A life too young to be taken from us,” the page said. “He will be missed by all of his family and friends.”
