WinCo Foods plans to build a new store in south Meridian near Eagle Road and Interstate 84.
A groundbreaking and construction time line has not yet been set, according to WinCo’s spokesman.
The store, at 2600 E. Overland Road, will be comparable in size to other WinCo stores, about 85,000 square feet, and will employ 150 to 180 people.
WinCo was founded in Boise in 1967. The employee-owned discount grocery chain has 109 stores in eight Western states including five stores in the Treasure Valley — two in Boise and one each in Meridian, Eagle and Nampa.
