Pickup truck slams into Caldwell house; teen driver cited

A 17-year-old Nampa boy was cited for reckless driving after a pickup truck plowed into a house in Caldwell late Monday morning, police report.

The teen, whose name was not released, drove the newer black Chevy truck through a fence and into the side of a house in the 14300 block of Shelby Street about 11:40 a.m., Caldwell police report. No one was in the house at the time, police said.

Officers located the driver and a passenger one other occupant standing outside of the residence with minor injuries, police said. The homeowners were notified of the damage to their residence.

The driver, whose name was not released, was arrested on a reckless driving charge, and other charges may be forthcoming, according to a Caldwell police news release. The crash remains under investigation.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the accident to call Canyon County Dispatch, 454-7531.
