Nampa sets open house about 6th Street North project

Anyone with questions about the planned roadway improvements can drop by between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the cafeteria of Idaho Arts Charter School, 1220 5th St. N.

Those who attend are asked to enter the school from 5th Street North to view project plans, get answers to questions and provide comments.

The city is finalizing the design for the project, which will stretch from 1st Avenue to 16th Avenue on 6th Street North. Crews will reconstruct the roadway, replace storm and water services and install new curb and gutter where there are none. In addition, pedestrian ramps will be updated to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and a crosswalk signal will be installed near Idaho Arts Charter School. Bike signs also are planned.

Construction is set to begin this summer, and 6th Street North will be closed in sections to through traffic.
