Drake Messer, the Nampa child who was found unconscious in a pond on his family's property Oct. 20, is now out of the intensive care unit, stable and "responding well to therapy" in the St. Luke's Children's Hospital, a St. Luke's spokesman said Wednesday.
"His mother told me she's encouraged by his progress," Director of Public Relations Tim Marsano said in an e-mail response to a query from the Statesman. "No word on when he'll be discharged."
The 4-year-old reportedly wandered into a decorative pond in the 100 block of Nampa's State Street, police reported.
