The 10-year-old was pinned under the golf cart after it rolled early Wednesday afternoon near his home, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office reports.
Emergency responders were called to the 15000 block of Parkview Drive near Wilder about 1:30 p.m., a CCSO news release said. Deputies and paramedics found the boy unresponsive and began life-saving measures while an air ambulance was called, CCSO reports. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
It is unknown what caused the golf cart to roll, according to the news release.
“This is a tragic accident and our hearts go out to the family of this young boy,” said Sheriff Kieran Donahue. “When tragedies like this happen, it really affects the entire community, including our first responders. "
