Ada County coroner ID’s Idaho pedestrian killed on I-84 in Meridian over the weekend

The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the Caldwell man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 84 Saturday. He was 23. 

The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the Idaho pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 84 over the weekend.

Juan Martinez Rojas died early Saturday from traumatic blunt force injuries, according to a news release from the coroner’s office. He was 23.

The Caldwell resident was crossing the westbound lanes of I-84 near mile marker 45 in Meridian when he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said. He died at the scene. Idaho State Police is investigating.

The coroner’s release ruled the incident an “accident.” ISP spokesperson Aaron Snell couldn’t be immediately reached Monday for additional information.
