The victim of a fatal crash Friday morning on U.S. 95 in Canyon County has been identified by the woman’s family.

Skye Massee, 18, of Notus, died in the accident, according to a GoFundMe that was posted to help cover funeral expenses and support Massee’s 5-month-old son.

Idaho State Police troopers are investigating the crash, according to a news release from the agency.

Just after 6 a.m. Friday, Massee’s 1998 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and struck a 2023 Peterbilt semi-truck, Idaho State Police said. The woman died from her injuries at the scene, according to the ISP release, and the 31-year-old Caldwell man who was driving the truck was taken to a local hospital.

The crash occurred northeast of Homedale at Garnet Road, police said. The highway was blocked for roughly three hours while emergency responders cleared the scene.
