Coroner identifies teen who died after Nampa semi-truck collision ejected her from car
The Ada County coroner has identified a teenage girl who died in a Nampa traffic accident last week.
The girl was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise on Thursday after the car she was riding in was involved in a collision with a semi-truck.
The coroner said the victim was Hennessey Benavidez, 17, of Caldwell, according to a report from the Ada County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday. Benavidez died from blunt force injuries and her death was ruled an accident, the coroner said.
The crash caused her to be ejected from the vehicle at about 6:13 p.m. Benavidez was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. Saturday in the intensive care unit at Saint Al’s.
She was one of two passengers in the vehicle. The other was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to previous Idaho Statesman reporting. The driver was not injured.
