A woman was severely injured Saturday afternoon after her vehicle crashed into a home in the 4600 block of Ida Red Avenue in Caldwell.

The driver was taken to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, Caldwell police said in a news release.

Witnesses told police that the driver was speeding as she tried to turn from Ida Red Avenue onto Miller Road and lost control of the car about 12:10 p.m.

The driver was not wearing her seat belt, police said. It was not clear if anyone was in the home at the time.

“This could have been a lot worse and thankfully this did not end with a tragedy,” Rex Ingram, Caldwell’s police chief, said in the release. “Buckle up, slow down, and arrive alive.”

The Police Department did not respond to an email about the driver’s condition as of Saturday night.
