A 56-year-old Nampa man died in a single-vehicle collision early Friday morning.

The Nampa Police Department said in a news release that they received a 911 call at roughly 4:10 a.m. reporting a vehicle had crashed into a pole at the corner of 12th Avenue Road and West Iowa Avenue.

Along with police, the Nampa Fire District and emergency medical service personnel responded. Authorities were able to remove the man from the vehicle and take him to a local hospital, police said. He died from his injuries there.

Police are investigating the crash but are considering the possibility that a “medical problem” factored into the collision, though an exact cause hasn’t been determined.

The man was not identified; his family was being notified.
