The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the 20-year-old man who was killed in a weekend shooting in Nampa.

Isaac Bernal died from a gunshot wound at 1:22 a.m. Sunday at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, in Boise, according to a report from the coroner’s office. Bernal’s death has been ruled a homicide.

The shooting occurred at a party on the 17000 block of North Pegram Way, the Nampa Police Department previously said. Carmen Boeger, spokesperson for Nampa police, told the Idaho Statesman that the department received a report of a disturbance, which then escalated to a shooting shortly before police arrived. At around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, officers found Bernal with a gunshot wound, according to Nampa police.

No arrests have been made for the incident, Boeger said as of around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Police previously said the shooting was “gang related.” Boeger said police knew of gang involvement based on statements made during interviews and officers’ observations during the incident.

“Police are following up on many leads,” Boeger said in a Tuesday email to the Statesman.
