Crash kills 21-year-old woman, hospitalizes 2 other people, Idaho police say
A two-vehicle crash on Thursday night outside of Nampa killed one woman and sent two people to the hospital, according to Idaho State Police.
The 10:15 p.m. crash happened at Robinson Road and East Locust Lane, between Nampa and Kuna, ISP reported in a news release. Marina Reyes, 21, of Nampa, died at the scene.
David Hankel, 45, of Meridian, and a juvenile passenger were traveling in a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe, and Reyes was driving a 2001 Honda Accord. Hankel was eastbound on Locust Lane when he failed to yield the right-of-way to Reyes, who was northbound on Robinson Road, according to ISP.
Hankel and Reyes were not wearing seat belts, and Hankel was ejected from his vehicle.
Hankel and his juvenile passenger were taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, but Reyes succumbed to her injuries, ISP reported.
The crash is under further investigation.
