Motorcyclist killed when passing tractor in Canyon County

A 59-year-old Nampa man died Tuesday afternoon when attempting to pass a tractor on his motorcycle in Canyon County.

The 4:15 p.m. crash occurred at the intersection of Riverside Road and Symms Road in Canyon County, just west of Lake Lowell, according to Idaho State Police.

John Hall, 23, of Marsing, was driving northbound on Riverside Road on a 2015 Ferguson tractor when Kevin Cherrington attempted to pass Hall on a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Cherrington hit the tractor as it turned left onto Symms Road and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

The intersection of Riverside Road and Symms Road was blocked for approximately three hours.
