Motorcycle crash near Caldwell sends 2 men to hospital, blocks interstate
A motorcycle crash near Caldwell sent two people to the hospital and blocked part of westbound Interstate 84 on Sunday, according to an Idaho State Police press release.
Fifty-year-old Carl Edmiston, of Melba, was westbound on I-84 near milepost 22, west of Caldwell, when the back tire of his 2007 Honda motorcycle blew out. Edmiston lost control of the vehicle and landed in a ditch on the shoulder of the road.
Edmiston’s son, 19-year-old Devin Edmiston, was also on the vehicle. Both were taken by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus in Boise. Devin wore a helmet; Carl did not.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
The right lane of westbound I-84 was blocked for about an hour mid-afternoon as crews worked to clear the roadway.
ISP is investigating the crash.
