Metro Community Services in Caldwell offers transportation for seniors age 60 and older and those with disabilities in Canyon County who would otherwise struggle to get around town.
The nonprofit organization is “in desperate need,” said spokesman Matt Jones, for more volunteer drivers.
“Our transportation service is absolutely vital for seniors and those with disabilities to meet their medical, nutritional, employment, educational, social, and recreational needs. These folks rely on us every week day to meet these important needs. This volunteer driving role is a wonderful and rewarding opportunity to serve seniors in our community by helping them live healthy, secure, and independent lives,” said Jones.
This is a great volunteer opportunity, especially for retirees or those with open or flexible schedules during the day, Jones added.
