A Transportation Security Administration officer found two guns on two different people within the same hour at Boise Airport Thursday, according to a TSA press release.
Around 11:15 a.m. a male passenger heading from Boise to Los Angeles International Airport was reportedly carrying a Glock 9mm handgun in his carry-on bag. The handgun wasn’t loaded. The TSA officer contacted Boise Police Department and the man was cited with “firearm at checkpoint.”
Around 12:15 p.m. the same TSA officer found a Charter Arms revolver with five rounds of ammunition on a woman who was escorting a ticketed passenger through the security checkpoint. The officer called BPD again and the woman was also cited with “firearm at checkpoint.”
Passengers can be fined up to $7,500 for bringing guns to a security checkpoint, according to the release.
These incidents bring the tally of guns found at the Boise Airport security checkpoint up to seven, according to the release. Firearms, ammunition, firearm parts and convincing replicas are banned from carry-on. Passengers can transport weapons in checked baggage, as long as they follow a set of rules for carrying their weapons.
