Air quality to remain in moderate range Wednesday

A yellow air quality alert issued Tuesday will remain in effect on Wednesday, as hot weather continues to elevate ozone levels.

The air quality index is expected to improve, but only slightly. Tuesday’s forecast called for an Air Quality Index of 70, compared with a predicted level of 64 on Wednesday.

Even with the improvement, residents are urged to limit driving and combine trips and errands.

Outdoor burning continues to be prohibited in Ada County and in incorporated cities in Canyon County.

Real-time monitoring levels can by obtained from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality website.
