‘The Grinder,’ set in Boise, canceled after first season
Fox canceled “The Grinder,” a comedy series featuring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage as brothers practicing law in Boise, according to a tweet by Lowe on Thursday.
#TheGrinder was not renewed by @FOXTV It was unapologetically original, smart, funny and had a murder's row of talent. #GrinderRests.

The show was announced last August. Its premise focused on a TV actor, played by Lowe, who returns to his hometown of Boise after his series about a high-powered attorney ends. He sets out to help his family’s law firm headed by his brother, played by Savage.
The director/producer, Jake Kasden, is best known for “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” and “Bad Teacher.”
It was only a couple weeks ago that Fred Savage shared his perspective of Boise (while pronouncing it “Boy-see) on “Conan.”
