Orchard Street reopened around 3 p.m. after a crash and related fuel spill forced police to reroute traffic, Boise police reported.

Orchard was closed in both directions at Wright Street, just south of Interstate 84, for several hours.

According to police, a passenger car crossed the center line of Orchard, hitting the other vehicles. Photos posted by the police department showed at least two sedans and a Reddaway Trucking semitrailer at the scene.

The driver of the passenger car, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital. No further information was available about him or others caught up in the crash Tuesday afternoon.

The Boise Fire Department’s hazmat team was called out to deal with the fuel spill.
