Update: Chain reaction with 4 vehicles slowed morning traffic on Connector

One person was sent to the hospital after a 4-vehicle crash on the Connector Wednesday morning, according to Idaho State Police

Cody J. McLees, 23, of New Plymouth was headed east on Interstate 184 when his 2012 Dodge R3500 pickup struck a 2003 Dodge Durango, driven by Wesley D. Phillips, 56, of Boise, at 7:35 a.m. McLees failed to stop for slowing traffic ahead of him near the River Street exit, Idaho State Police said.

The impact caused a chain reaction with a 2008 Ford F250 pickup driven by Joshua R. Sittser, 41, of Boise and a 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Mauricio A. Steffen, 35, of Nampa.

Sittser was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center. The ISP did not have a report on his condition.

Due to heavy congestion in the area, the ISP responded to three additional accidents between Mileposts 2 and 3 on the Connector. No one was injured in those wrecks, police said.

Traffic remained slow on the eastbound Connector until just before 11 a.m.

No citations were issued, but the crash remains under investigation.
