2 Boise residents among Jeopardy! college finalists
Kevin Brown, a senior at Louisiana State University, and Niki Peters, a sophomore at the University of California at Berkeley, are among 15 finalists who will compete in the two-week Jeopardy! College Championship beginning next week.
The two Boise residents will compete for the $100,000 grand prize and a spot in the game show’s next Tournament of Champions. The contest begins Monday and concludes on Feb. 12.
Jeopardy! airs at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday on KBOI-TV, Channel 2.
Peters graduated from Timberline High School and also attended the Treasure Valley Math and Science Center. She also served a high school internship in the research lab of Danny Xu, an assistant professor of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences at Idaho State University-Meridian.
She is majoring in integrative biology at the California university.
Brown graduated from Capital High School and also attended the Treasure Valley Math and Science Center. He is a member of the Chancellor’s Honor Roll at LSU, serves as a dormitory resident assistant. He also served an engineering internship with MWH Global, assisting with a wildlife health lab for the Idaho Department of Fish & Wildlife and with a mine remediation project in Washington State.
He is majoring in environmental engineering.
