Crimestoppers debuts mobile app for tips
Residents of Southwest Idaho can now report crime tips using new technology.
Crimestoppers of Southwest Idaho has joined with the P3 Tips mobile app that serves 27 states, including Oregon, Utah and Washington.
The app allows users to submit tips to a large number of local police agencies, including Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Mt. Home and Star. They can also be sent to sheriff’s offices in Ada, Canyon, Gem, Boise and Washington counties.
Users can remain anonymous and the free app includes categories of crimes for selection, including assault, arson, murder and kidnapping, among a long list.
The app is available for phones operating on the Apple and Android platforms.
Crimestoppers began taking telephone tips in 1981. That line, at 343-COPS, remains available. Tips may also be submitted online.
