Fire destroys Boise home; resident sustains minor injuries

A Boise home was destroyed by fire Saturday morning, according to Tammy Barry, spokesperson for the Boise Fire Department.

The call reporting the blaze came in around 5:05 a.m. and Boise Fire responded to the scene near the 1700 block of North Fry Steet, Barry said.

The occupant of the burning residence had escaped with only minor injuries, she said.

“(The occupant) heard noises coming from the living room and he was able to escape out the back door and call 911,” Barry said.

The house was totaled, she said.

The man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The Red Cross and the Burn Out Fund were not needed for support, Barry said.

The cause of the blaze is undetermined, but Barry noted there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
