Dog missing, driver injured after rollover crash on Idaho 21
A local man is in the hospital and his dog is missing after a rollover crash this week on Highway 21.
The man, whose name has not been provided, was driving a 2015 GMC pickup truck west on Highway 21 near Hilltop Station. The truck left the road on the right shoulder about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and appeared to have rolled at least once, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said the man is 42 years old and lives in Boise.
The driver and his dog were ejected from the truck, according to a family friend, who said the man lives in the Robie Creek area. The driver was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. But the dog was missing after the crash, the family friend said.
Another family friend has posted a Craigslist ad with details about the dog, named Wrosco. The dog is described as a border collie mix, 4 or 5 years old. The long-haired dog is mostly black with brown and white.
The Craigslist posting includes a phone number to call with information about the dog’s whereabouts.
The crash was under investigation as of Friday, with no determination on the cause or whether alcohol was a factor, the sheriff’s office said.
