Meridian teens report interaction with adult impersonating a police officer
Meridian Police Department is seeking help from the public identifying a suspect who may have been impersonating a police officer Saturday, according to an MPD press release.
Two teen boys, ages 13 and 14, told police they had been walking near the intersection of East Cassidy Drive and North Tupiza Way when an adult male approached them. The man said he was a law enforcement official and asked if the boys were getting into trouble or stealing. Then he took a photo of the 13-year-old boy’s school identification card, according to police.
The boys didn’t provide much of a description of the man, except that he may have been driving a Jeep Wrangler, according to police.
The 13-year-old’s mother called the report into police. If you have any information about the incident or suspect, call MPD at 208-888-6678.
