UPDATE: Coroner releases identity of man who died in 1-vehicle crash on Warm Springs

Gary Pietrok, 48, of Middleton died at the scene of a one-vehicle crash on East Warm Springs Avenue near Starcrest Drive Thursday evening, closing that portion of Warm Springs and the nearby Greenbelt for hours.

The Ada County Coroner reported Friday Pietrok died of blunt force trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the 7:15 p.m. crash.

The crash is under investigation, and Boise police released no information Friday about what caused Pietrok’s eastbound SUV to leave the road and end up 30 feet down an embankment. The driver was ejected, police said Thursday night.
