46 crashes reported Thursday morning on icy roads in Ada County
The worst injury reported from any of the crashesw was a broken shoulder, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. But slide-offs, rollovers and other collisions tied up roads across northern Ada County for hours.
Part of Idaho 16 was closed between Chinden Boulevard and Firebird Raceway. And a massive pileup brought multiple emergency responders to Idaho Highway 44 west of Eagle Road. More than 20 vehicles were involved, and that part of 44 was shut down to traffic until shortly before 10:30 a.m.
The only major injury reported Thursday, the broken shoulder, was related to that pileup. A woman had gotten out of her vehicle. Then another car slammed into her car, which crashed into her. The pileup was caused by several separate accidents, all related to icy roads, the sheriff’s office reports.
Roads in North Ada Co. are icy & slick. Deputies are responding to multiple crashes. Drivers, please slow down & leave room to stop safely.

You can check traffic conditions here before you get on the road.
If the temp. outside is near freezing, drive as if you're on ice—you may be! https://t.co/JUAOND9B6H #idwx #orwx pic.twitter.com/PhPaMImEs8
