Bogus Basin set to open Friday
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area will have a soft open for skiers and snowboarders Friday through the weekend, according to a press release from the ski resort.
Through November the mountain has gotten 25 inches of snow and will have 18 inches at the base when they open. Just since Tuesday the resort got 6 inches of fresh snow.
“We are very excited to have an early opening for the holiday weekend,” said Brad Wilson, general manager in a statement. “This is a great opportunity for Bogus Basin and the Treasure Valley. We are hoping for a very successful season this year.”
Adult ticket prices will run at a reduced rate for $35 for a day pass with children under 12 getting in for $20, according to the release.
The Coach and Deer Point Lifts will be open with some Nordic Skiing open near the upper trails at the Nordic Center. Bathrooms and lockers will be available at Pioneer Lodge. The Black Diamond retail and rental shop will be open with walk-in lessons available. The mountain will be open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the weekend, according to the release.
